New report for London City Airport highlights the role of business air travel in economic recovery

16.06.2022

Our latest report for London City Airport, “Backing Business Air Travel”, demonstrates the importance of a thriving business air travel sector to the economy.

The research finds that a speedy return of business air travel could boost the economy by as much as £17.5 billion over the next 8 years. The aviation industry will be key to the recovery of other sectors, including leisure, hospitality, and international conferencing.

The research also demonstrates the overwhelming desire from businesses to return to the skies. A poll of over 1,000 business leaders shows that 73% expect their companies to travel for business over the next two years. This figure rises to 89% of business leaders in London.

The report therefore calls on the Government to work with the aviation industry to enable the return of business air travel, and work to increase sustainability within the sector.
