The Commission will work with policymakers across the political divide over the course of 2024 with the aim of producing a blueprint for growth and prosperity immediately after the general election. Bringing together a range of businesses and academics, we will produce a new analysis that looks at the key issues and policies that should shape how a modern industrial strategy is designed. While productivity is key, we believe that we need to look at it from a new perspective: beyond the traditional focus on issues of skills, enterprise and competition policy, or capital inputs; and looking afresh at deeper issues such as educational attainment, health outcomes, technological capabilities and investment environment in local areas.
